About

The Voigtlander
My passion for photography probably started at the age of 12 when I first asked my father if I could take some pictures with his camera, his camera was a 1939 German Voigtlander Vito-1. a totally battery free camera. But my career in photography actually started at one of Fleet Street's oldest press agency.
I left school shortly before my 16th birthday and started work as a messenger boy for Fox Photos, one of Fleet Street's press agencies. I worked my way through the ranks of Tea-boy, Dev-boy, Glassier, Film processor, B&W printer, Assistant Picture Librarian, then penultimately Assistant Photographer. I was assistant to many of the Fox Photos photographers, and there were more than 20 of them.  During this time I was attending Paddington Tech and The London College of Printing for my photographic qualifications.
Ilford Press Awards
Shortly after my 18th birthday the picture desk bravely sent me on my first assignment - it was to cover a Polo match at Windsor Great Park, a picture from this polo match won an award at the Ilford Press Awards, this gave me a bit of recognition and our  picture editor some confidence to send me on more assignments.
Age 22, and after many assignments including Royal-Rota events I left Fox Photos to freelance for The Times, The Daily Mail, The Daily Mirror & Sunday Mirror.
Going Commercial
Age 26, I decided to make a career adjustment to tack away from press photography and concentrate on commercial work by taking on a lease for a newly built studio by London Bridge - this proved to be a very good decision.
Digital Revolution
The year 2002, and after many years shooting film a digital revolution was upon us, I finally conformed and bought my first digital camera,   ..and Wow!  I was hooked all over again - just love this digital age.
Experience
I have covered all aspects of my craft to include, Advertising, Fine Art, Architectural, industrial, Catalogue, Magazine, PR, AV, Still Life, Event, Equine, and even the odd Wedding to boot. I believe I have the skills to tackle anything.

I use my camera to capture the world as I see it,  then others can see what I see.
