Frequently Asked Questions

What type of photography do you undertake?
I generally only undertake business to business commissions and my range is everything within the corporate criteria to include portrait, architectural, product, marine, brochure, design, creative, art, annual report and more.

Can you come and see me?
I would always be happy to call in and discuss your project.

Can you send over a portfolio?
Nowadays my portfolio is virtual and can be viewed online, but if you do require something specific, I can put a bespoke gallery together for your viewing.

How far in advance do we need to book you?
The majority of my work is booked between two and six weeks in advance, but I do keep a flexible diary to accommodate clients who may need to commission photography at short notice.

Which geographical areas do you cover?
Although based in Essex, the majority of my shoots are in London, but I do undertake projects countrywide as well as abroad.

Do you shoot on film or digital?
Every image is captured in a digital format these days as film no longer has a quality advantage.

What is your normal turnaround
My normal turnaround for viewable images is five working days, but a turnaround can be the same day or the next working day for an increase in the standard rates. Please contact me for more information.

Do you work on location or in a studio?
Both -The majority of my work is shot on location.

How do you supply the finished images?
This depends on the client's specific needs, but generally, the client would receive a link by email to download the finished digital images, which can be supplied in a variety of formats such as JPEG, TIFF, PSD, PNG, etc. Unless a specific colour space is requested, all images would be supplied in sRGB.

What is post-production?
All professional photographers worth their weight will shoot in RAW file format. (A RAW file format is only binary information and not a viewable image) Post-production is the process by which the RAW digital files (also called digital negatives) are processed to produce a viewable image and optimize colour balance, tonal balance, contrast and brightness, colour vibrancy and saturation. Together with cropping and minor retouching, the process ensures that the client receives the highest quality image from the photographer; for most photographic assignments, an initial amount of digital post-production is included in the day rate.

When do you require payment?
I invoice after the images have been sent to the client. My terms are 21 days, but earlier payment is encouraged as a copyright license is only active after full payment has been received.

How much do you charge?
My Fee is formulated on; My time, Post production, picture usage, Image supply, and expenses. No two assignments are ever quite the same, so please contact me via the contact page for a quotation or estimate, or just to air a proposed project. I'm always pleased to be of assistance.

We think our photo shoot will only take half an hour, this is less than your minimum job time - can you discount?
No, ..My minimum job time is two hours, this reflects the amount of time needed to be booked out of my diary to complete the very smallest of photo shoots.

Will you match quotes from a cheaper photographer?
No, ..While I'm always happy to look at ways to achieve a solution to a project within a limited budget. I work for clients who commission me for my intellectual creative ability, my experience, and dedication to excellence - Not because I am the cheapest photographer the could get.
